Barnes & Noble slashes Nook tablets prices
Barnes & Noble is determined to stay alive in a very crowded tablet market. To compete against the giants, Barnes & Noble slashes off the prices for all three of its Nook tablets.
What You Need To Know:
- The 8GB Nook Tablet is now sold for $179 from its original price of $199, while the 16GB version is now available for $199 from $249. The inexpensive Nook Color is down to $149 from $169.
- Analysts weren’t surprised with the price cut since classes are about to start.
- The price reduction is also viewed as a smart move for Barnes & Noble since Amazon and Apple are rumored to release their latest tablets in the next few months.
While the move better positions Barnes & Noble’s tablets to compete with Google’s Nexus 7, which sells for $199 for the 8GB model and $249 for the 16GB version, the price cuts also come in the face of increased speculation that Amazon will soon release new Kindles.
