PlayMG launches dedicated Android gaming device

As smartphones have become more advanced, mobile games have also become more sophisticated. To take advantage of the surging growth of mobile gaming, startup company PlayMG has released MG, an Android phone that is totally dedicated to Android gaming.

What You Need To Know:

  • The MG phone has a 1GHz processor with 1GB RAM. It also has a 4-inch touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass and 1.3MP front-facing camera.
  • The phone has 4GB internal storage, but it can be expanded up to 68GB.
  • PlayMG claims that the MG is lighter and faster than most Android phones since they stripped down other phone components and retain those that are essential to gaming.
  • The device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
  • The MG is now available for a promo price of $149 until November 4. Beyond the promo period, the phone will cost $169 at Amazon and PlayMG.com.

With somewhat mediocre specs, this isn’t going to be replacing any Playstation Vita or Nintendo 3DS hardware. Keep in mind that not everyone needs the power of a major handheld console. If you have relatively basic gaming needs, this could be perfect for you.
