Sony Mobile to lose 1,000 jobs

In line with its restructuring program, Sony Mobile will move its headquarters from Lund, Sweden to Tokyo, Japan. The move will result to losing 1,000 jobs by the end of March 2014.

What You Need To Know:

  • Sony Mobile’s restructuring initiative intends to reduce costs and improve efficiency. The 1,000 job cut represents 15 percent of the company’s global workforce.
  • From the total of 1,000 jobs lost in Sweden, 650 are full time and 350 are consultants.
