Review: Super Stickman Golf 2 – The Craziest Golf Game You’ll Ever Play

super stickman golf 2Golf is a tough sport. It’s fun, but it can be pretty frustrating even if you’re good at it.

The same thing can be said for Noodlecake Studios Super Stickman Golf 2 as it’s truly a blast to play, but it’s guaranteed to frustrate the hell out of you.

Guess you could say that’s par for the course…

If you played the original version of Super Stickman golf you already know how easy the game is to pick up and play. If you’re new to the franchise, you’ll have no trouble getting down to business as you simply need to set the angle of your shot, and tap a button to start your swing. It’s the standard video game golf swing setup, and it’s a perfect fit for Stickman Golf.

Swinging the club may be a breeze, but keeping your sanity is much harder thanks to the lovely courses in Super Stickman Golf 2.

Some of the courses are insane and there are a lot of them, 20 to be exact. I’m currently stuck in Candy Lane, but have already been through frustratingly fun courses like Portal Lab, Magnet Land, and Stickier Land. The name’s say it all. Some courses aren’t all that hard to get through, but getting a perfect on them is a different story altogether.

There are a whopping 180 holes of golf in Super Stickman Golf 2 and you can go at it alone or in turn-based multiplayer. It may not be in “real time” but it’s still a blast to play against someone and watch them screw up. It definitely makes you feel better about shanking your ball into the void for the 4th time in a row.

As cool as the courses are another reason folks love Super Stickman Golf are the extras. There are 10 unlockable golfers, 53 achievements, and 9 power-ups. Some balls will let your balls stick to walls while others turn hazards into ice or sand. All of them are handy, but you’ll want to be careful how you use them or you’ll come up short at you only get a limited amount per course.

The hats are back as well and so are their wonderful abilities. You’ll get 28 hats courtesy of the Gumball Machine and you’ll want to get them all as they add some pop to your stickman while also giving you helpful boots in certain areas. The hats cost Bux which are hard to come by, but not impossible by any means.

Super Stickman Golf 2 is another smash hit from the crew at Noodlecake, and it’s a worthy follow-up to the original game. As wacky as the premise and courses are, the game truly feels like real golf at times as clearing (or failing) particular holes and courses can get you amped up just like the real thing. The only grumblings I’ve heard from anyone about the game is in regards to the Hats along with the Pro Shop power-ups that can’t be won with gameplay.

If you clear the game you probably won’t have to spend a penny to get all the hats and it is a “hat lottery” after all… there’s supposed to be an element of chance. The Pro Shop is SSG2’s version of IAP and everything listed is purely optional and great if you want a leg up in the game.

The only thing missing is Live multiplayer, but it’s in the works and we’ll get it sooner than later.

Needless to say, if you’re in the market for a golf game or loved the original, Super Stickman Golf 2 is a must-have Android game.
