Microsoft Office for mobile devices to arrive early 2013

Microsoft has been silent regarding its intentions of launching Microsoft Office on mobile devices. However, The Verge has managed to acquire screenshots on the app, serving up some proof that an app is currently in the works.

What You Need To Know:

  • According to The Verge, the Office Mobile allows users to view and edit documents on the go. The basic editing functionalities of the app will not totally replace or exceed the functionalities of the desktop Office version.
  • Users are required to have a Microsoft account to access the documents.
  • The Office Mobile will feature basic documents such as the Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • The iOS version is expected to arrive late February or early March 2013. The Android version, on the other hand, is expected to arrive in May 2013.
